We all remember Hot Wheels whether we played with them ourselves (they were actually called "Matchbox Cars" in my day) or spent relentless trips to wall-mart to search for the illusive yellow ferrari that would rock the neighborhood. Well today I relived those Hot Wheel memories in a different sort of way....Due to the constraints of mechanical difficulty with my car I was without transportation to work today...DELIMA...my husband could take me but the hitch was getting home after lunch...so i did what any American would do and packed my bike in the back of his car and determined to ride home...now i must confess that I do road bike so this was not a foreign idea to me but i usually pick temperatures that are cooler that 90 and roads that are less traveled. Work was done and by one thirty I was on my way in 95 degree weather on one of the busiest roads in south Charlotte. I now have a new appreciation for "Hot Wheels"

Did I know we were practically neighbors? I am in north Mecklenburg living in the 'burbs! Yes, it was hot. I am glad you didn't get caught in the deluge that took me by surprise!
ReplyDeleteI had both Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels. The Matchbox cars were usually small-scale replicas of real vehicles (whether cars or trucks); the Hot Wheels were designed to look "fast" ... and they used technology to make them twice as fast as the Matchboxes.
